For 2017, we had a unified goal for all our global trade shows, gain leads. This single purpose united our global marketing strategy for the year and allowed us to make a very strategic booth system that would funnel people in and through as efficiently as possible. With very tight regional budgets, we worked with items readily available around the world, Ikea. This was als the year where we introduced video in booth via VR headsets. The visuals for the…

G Adventures recently relocated their London office to better suit the growing size of the region. We created an entirely new work environment, including a new kitchen, casual meeting areas, themed meeting rooms and work space for 65 people. The project relied on us to create the floor plan and desk plan, select themes and furniture to create the desired style and design. Kitchen layout with cabinetry and fully functional casual areas were created to theme around an English garden.…

The second (or third) version of the Carbon Lunch Box has a better securing system and, more importantly, a lid that opens automatically. This version fits up to 8 gels, or a combination of gels and bars. The idea to create a lid that was spring loaded came to me while trying to come up with a good solution to cover the opening. It was as easy as adding an extra extension to the lid that was hinged with rivets.…

This cmd about when I was looking to buy a new case to carry my everyday work essentials. There are lots of nice bags and boxes out there, different sizes and styles. But I soon realized I could easily make one for myself with scraps I had at home. Some leather left over from a chair, the sleeve of a friends shirt and a couple snap closures would do the job. Usually while sewing leather I'll pre punch holes with…

A recent trip to bike the back roads of Cuba with G Adventures turned out to be an exciting trip into rural towns and contrasting busy cities. The route took us west from Havana, as far as Viñales and through the towns of Soroa, Las Terrazas, La Palma and Cayo Jutias. The terrain varied from open coastal roads to some of the highest mountain passes on the island. The landscape also varied through the 6 days as well. Lush foggy valleys…

This is a custom designed awards cabinet made for the G Adventures office in Toronto. It maximized the useable space and helps highlight individual awards by giving each one a shadowbox frame effect. The cabinet was hand made by master carpenters and recessed in a 8' x 8' opening in the wall. It was lacquered for a high gloss purple and white finish, matching the adjacent custom kitchen cabinets and the companies corporate colours.

I am developing a carbon fibre bottle mount to be used on race bicycles. This one is for the aero extensions on the handle bars and holds a standard bottle cage and bottle. It’s called the Juice Box. The mounts are in early stages of testing, and will adapt to many different bar configurations, to accommodate different bikes and rider preferences.

This was a recent trip to Thailand to experience one of G Adventures sailing trips first hand. We are launching a new type of trip with the addition of Catamarans. The experience on board each ship has to be re imagined. Which includes the physical space, but also the feelings and memories each traveller takes with them.   This video and series of photos captures the experience while Sailing the islands off Phuket, Thailand with G Adventures. The 4 story stairwell at G Adventures Base Camp in Toronto offered a great opportunity to create a huge immersive piece. Utilizing a printed timeline we documented all of the companies major milestones, which there are a lot of. We then strung parachute cord from the start or each section, and pulled it to every point on the timeline, connecting every event back to its origin. The text and images give you good detail about what the company has accomplished…
