We took a trip to the EX last week to get some night shots of the rides and games. The weather co-operated with us and the rain cleared up before we had to head out. We wanted to get as long an exposure as possible to blur the line between the movement, the lighting and the object itself. We survived the crowds and the carnies to get these great shots. Enjoi. Here is the second edition of our photo escapades. These ones are from a few different places over a couple of weeks. I'll keep getting them up as they get taken.   [gallery link="file" ids="1304,1306,1305"]

I recently had the opportunity to photograph a custom painted Mike Giant Edition Leader track bike. I set the bright white bike among a dingy dark basement to get a great contrast. The lighting was low but the bike was bright. Thanks to Bikes on Wheels for giving me the chance to take some great shots. [gallery link="file" ids="1289,1290,1291" orderby="rand"]

After struggling with various different pains and injuries over the past few race seasons, I decided to make a drastic change to my footwear. I contact the Danish shoe manufacturer ECCO to get a pair of their Biom A 2.1 Natural Motion running shoes. These shoes take a completely different stance, no pun intended, than most other companies. Instead of adding extra foam and support to the sole of the shoe, they give you an incredibly low stance and flexible…

Its a long weekend here in Canada, so we took the opportunity to head to Keen Valley in New York State. My sister was there with her husband and their baby Emery, this was his first trip to the mountains. They also had their Norval friends with their baby. Cassy had never been up a mountain before, so we jumped head in, with a 2762 ft climb as soon as we got there. No problem. We all made it with…

[gallery order="DESC" columns="2"] These are a few photos Cassy and I have taken in the past while. I kept seeing them in my iPhoto library, and meaning to touch them up but never did. Until now. We spend much of our free time finding and photographing textures, colours, shapes and forms. I know the more images I have to draw from, the better the a finished piece will be. There have been many times that I had something in mind,…

[gallery] Now that FITC (Flash in the Can) is over for an other year, I have some time to put up some photos and comments about the event. The overall feeling I have is WOW. I have been overwhelmed with amazing design, new technology and the stories told by great designers from around the globe. Some good sessions to check out on the FITC site: Back to the Future with James White United Visual Artists with Ben Kreukniet North Kingdom:…

[gallery] On a snowy day this week, I decided it would be best to ride cross town and visit Klaus by Nienkamper. I hadn't been for a few years, and wanted to catch up on the new designs they had at their multi leveled show room at 300 King st. East. When you first walk in, there is a lone pig to greet you. I wanted him to follow me through the store, but he stayed in his place. You…

[gallery columns="2"] Last Friday, we took a trip to the R.O.M. to see all the new exhibits and areas they have opened. I hate to say, but I hadn't seen the museum since the renovations have been done. During construction, I would often go out of my way to see the progress. However, I never had the right partner to go see the new space after completion. It really is a two person job. The architectural comments will come in a…

[gallery] Before my trip to Europe in late October, I felt it necessary to get a new camera. My previous digital had commited suicide a while before. I wanted something powerfull with great adjustability, but light enough to ride with around my neck. I got a new Canon G11. Everything worked out well, and my third love has turned out to be a gracious lover.
