Gabriel is a writer trying to pen the perfect story, and Wigworm is an ear-wig that wants some lunch. Together they collaborate on what qualities make up perfection. But their creation, Kyle, turns out to be gay. Did God make him this way?

Panic and Hysteria appear and start creating characters too. As Gabriel wrestles with his demons, Kyle fends off the fictional women in his life. Will they be able to reconcile their hopes and desires with reality or will they succumb to their own fears and self-loathing?

Since I have had this phone for over a year, I figured I should start using some of the native tools, and maybe even download some apps. I have used it for music and playing the occasional game and even as a phone, but the camera was only ever used when a proper hand held wasn’t available. The images are too low rez, the light sensor blows and I usually can’t bring myself to being one of those people holding up a phone just to get a crappy pic.

I came across Instagram, which is a camera optimizing app that allows you to add filters to your pics and post them to your favorite networking site, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter and the such. I am not a fan of any of those sites, I avoided ICQ, never got Messenger and certainly am not a fan of Friendster, but the app does allow you to just save your pic in your Photo Album. You can either take a pic in the app, or choose one you had in your Album.

Here are a few I took with the app, some I already had, and one image I had made with another app I had called Reflect. My next task is to take a high rez pic with my G11, add it to the phones Photo Album and try to add a filter to it. I wonder what will happen, Spontaneous Combustion?  Massive Failure? Time Travel?

Note: Instagram does down sample hi rez pictures to 8.5″x8.5″ at 72 dpi. Too bad. However, no time travel occurred.

I came across this video on Wenken, the blog of Shelby White and had to show it to everyone I could.

The video itself uses typography, and stars helvetica, to provide all the negative and positive space for the words to move about in. With the colouring and texture effects, you get a good realistic look and it almost seems drawn or painted. And along with the quote from Mike Parker or Linotype USA, you can really hear how the letters do perform, and hold each other, and understand it. Even for someone who doesn’t think about type all day, would understand the importance of this particular type face.

What it’s all about is the interrelationship of the negative shape, the figure ground relationship, the shapes between characters & within characters so that the counters & the space between characters just hoooooooold the letters. It’s a letter that lives in a powerful matrix of surrounding space. It’s…oh, its brilliant when it’s done well.

Thoora has redefined how we get news. They take the online blog entries from millions of sources, including Traditional Media, Bloggers and Twitter, then calculates and ranks them. These stories are then rated and ranked according to what story is receiving the most “BUZZ”.

I proposed taking their website and creating a hybrid app/website. A program that is downloaded to the users device, computer/iPhone/iPad/Mobil Device, and is constantly updated with all the relevant changes in the Thoora World. This “App” would allow for incredibly rich content to be displayed with little to no loading time.

To further quicken the learning curve and the overall navigation, the App would operate in a 3D Node structure. There would be no “Mouse Clicks” and would operate by “Mousing Over” the item wanted to be viewed. This item would appear in its own “Node” and could then be read, moved around, added to your dashboard, etc.

While redesigning the site and concept, I also took it upon myself to do a new logo and business cards.

It is always worth getting up early. Whether it is for a nice cup of coffee, an early bike or a canoe on a calm lake, it is better before everyone else wakes.

We took advantage of the nice morning weather to snap a few pics while camping up near Parry Sound. The rain rolled in soon after and killed our lighting, but we managed a few goodies in time.

We took a trip to the EX last week to get some night shots of the rides and games. The weather co-operated with us and the rain cleared up before we had to head out.

We wanted to get as long an exposure as possible to blur the line between the movement, the lighting and the object itself.

We survived the crowds and the carnies to get these great shots. Enjoi.
